VenatorNoctis's Id Pro Quo letter! I'm really excited for this exchange and I hope you're having a good time.
The theme underlying all of my idfic requests: give nice things to my faves, even if they don't "deserve" them, and especially if canon didn't. I'll elaborate further here for each ship but that's the basic version.
My DNWs: gen of requested ships, deathfic, pregnancy/birth or kidfic, scat/vomit, unrequested dub/noncon, force-feeding, medical kink, extreme underage (postpubescent teenagers are fine), issuefic, infantilization, forced feminization or involuntary sexswaps (voluntary genderplay of any kind is fine), soulmate/soulmark AUs, mundane AUs.
I apologize for some of these being longer sections than others. I do absolutely want all of them! I just have trouble shutting up about some themes.
Artoirel/Emmanellain

House Fortemps is such an awkward place to be! And these two are very aware that they're not dad's favorite, and there's such isolation in their positions; Artoirel is coping by throwing himself too hard into his work and Emmanellain is coping by trying to run from it. Please let them find something like a happy medium looking after each other.
Something canon-compliant might go after Emmanellain gets rescued from the vanu, and Artoirel encounters him about when the WoL does; the poor boy really needs some comfort from someone at that point (and "he didn't have to hit me so hard!" is a protest that has a lot of distressing implications). Or possibly it's after Edmont tells Aymeric to be careful because he doesn't want to lose another son, while Artoirel is standing right there. Please let these brothers take care of each other, gosh.
Or it could be something less tied to a specific event; maybe they were sent on some mission together and wound up in danger and Artoirel had to defend his little brother. (And it's cold out there, so they're going to have to stick close together at night especially.) Maybe Emmanellain sneaks into Artoirel's room when he has nightmares (or "has nightmares") because it's a good way to coax some physical affection out of someone and that's in short supply.
Something canon-divergent could go pretty much as far afield as you want: learning to transform and taking off into the sky as dragons; taking inspiration from the missing Durendaire heir and running away to Limsa to be adventurers; hell, running away to Limsa and winding up on a pleasure barge doing sex shows together. There are so many interesting places to go and things to do on Hydaelyn and it'd be nice for them to have a chance to partake.
If Haurchefant comes up, please be nice to him; given how strained the relationships are in this family it might be easier to just avoid that tho. As you can probably tell I don't think much of Edmont's parenting; once again, you're welcome to avoid involving him if that sounds like it wouldn't be a good time.
Gaius/Livia

Wow do I love this problematic disaster ship. I want to see some point when they're together and Livia gets to have a good time, and would love for that to involve sex. Feel free to lean into (and sex up) their power imbalance if that's your jam, keeping in mind that she appears to have been the one to pursue him and that she is a high-ranking officer in her own right by 2.0—i.e.,she's no helpless slave girl, and she would probably shoot anyone who suggested that Gaius had exploited or groomed her (whether or not she actually has a clear-headed perspective on the subject).
Those D/s tags: this would just be intensely hot, okay. I'd want this to be a consensual dynamic (with whatever caveats about their power difference) that doesn't go for humiliation and instead is like, ways in which he tests her and ways in which she's proud to do whatever it takes to please him, because he is her life. One of those dynamics where submission is a voluntary gift and the dom pushes the sub's limits to be able to see that devotion in action.
H/C stuff: We don't get to see them in battle together and I'd love to, and I'd love to see them coping with the aftermath. Garleans not having the easy magical healing available to the other Spoken races of Hydaelyn is really compelling to me and the extra struggle that imparts to caring for your wounded partner is good shit. Either of them can be wounded here.
But that shaving tag is sort of me thinking about him coming home with an injury and her helping out while he's recovering—the vulnerability and trust there is intensely sexy, and would pair really well with heady UST when she's a teenager who knows he's hot but hasn't yet convinced him to touch her. nnnnh.
Resurrection/Reunion stuff: Let her live. I want to see her in the post-2.0 world, whether that's canon divergence to let her walk off the boss fight or Gaius going down into the Palace of the Dead to bring her back out of it. Spooky side effects and strangeness completely welcome as long as she comes back with her devotion intact and isn't rotting or something.
Varis/Regula
Alternate Universe - Bad Guy(s) Win, BDSM - Submissive branded as Dom’s property, Canonically Dead Character Survives, D/s - under-negotiated or unnegotiated but mutually enjoyed dynamic, Fighting - One character gets off on watching the other one fight, Hair Stuff - One character shaves another's face with a straight razor, Hurt/Comfort - Gentle sex because one partner is ill or injured, Kink - Breathplay using hands on throat, Lord displaying devotion or doing service for sworn knight, Scarification - as a sign of love, Service Kink - Character hones battle skill to better serve beloved superior, Smut - Everyone involved is greatly and obviously enjoying themselves, Sparring as foreplay
Let THEM live. Or just set things in the past where they could have had something nice for a little while. We've been given so little concrete information about these two as people, and neither of them have had much screen time apart from Terrible Plot Scenes, so there's not a whole lot to go on, but like. Please.
The EE tells us that Regula was friends with Varis from a young age, that he's the kind of officer who's sent in to clean up a corrupt legion (and those soldiers become deeply loyal to him), that in the succession crisis he put his resources at Varis' disposal. His devotion and his honor are clear. Then we get the Tales from the Shadows one with Solus and Varis ("Through His Eyes") and that made it clear that Varis was isolated and unable to earn his grandfather's approval from a young age, and that he suffered with that, and... I want this connection between Varis and Regula so much.
So yeah partly I'm going with heavy-loyalty D/s things again because I love that, the continuity between "I will bring my forces to bear for your cause" and "I will offer you my body to mark and use however you please, for I am yours." But also there are some tags in there about fetishizing strength and fighting prowess because that's how aggressive warriors who measure their worth by their violence do. Kinking on the size difference between them would also be fantastic; Regula's model is at the max height for generically built Garleans but Varis is still considerably bigger and either of them kinking on that would be hot.
I don't want stuff about Black Rose, or major on-screen presence from Solus; if politics come up at all, I'd like something set before Varis knows the full story about Solus and when it's plausible that he does believe the anti-eikon crusade is for the good of his people and his world.
Luna/Ravus

These two are a disaster and it breaks my heart. Ravus has made so many bad choices over the last twelve years and he just keeps doubling down on them until it's too late, and Luna clearly wishes she could get through to him but won't compromise on her duty, and mostly I'm just flinging myself melodramatically down a well here.
What I want is some situation where they could have a better connection, where Ravus' obvious passion for Luna was enough to bridge the gap and where they maybe weren't under such contrasting strain to begin with? Or something as simple as a canon divergence in Episode Ignis where she was also still alive when Ignis and Ravus reached their important people.
I'm so very into all the "we shouldn't and yet this attraction is so hard to resist" tropes for this ship, the erosion of boundaries due to mutual desire; I don't want to see them actually get caught having a romantic/sexual relationship, but I like it being a thing they worry about and try to mitigate (except that they just want more...).
Ravus/Ardyn

I started picking tags for this ship thinking I didn't know what I wanted, but then I pulled the list together and it looks like I have a theme after all: some AU situation in which Ardyn is deified, possibly by an entire nation, possibly by a small hidden cult, and Ravus is the ritual sacrifice/betrothed/godslave who has been offered to him to keep him from savaging his worshippers.
It's hard to get Ravus to enjoy anything and I imagine he probably goes to his task with a grim, stubborn purpose, expecting it to be an Ordeal to Suffer Through... And it'd be utterly delightful to watch Ardyn take those expectations and dismantle them with the thorough, hungry patience only an immortal can really achieve. Just take him apart, wreck him with pleasure, make him discover what it feels like to worship with his whole heart (and body) instead of just going through the motions. Ardyn for his part really enjoying and appreciating his new sacrifice-celebrant would also be really good—he may or may not be capable of love in his daemon-ridden state but at the very least he can approximate it with delight and possessiveness.

Four variations on a theme, and that theme is lovely slave boys in the hands of someone who might, finally, give them decent treatment. I'd love to look at the slaves' conditioning, fear, and attempts to please, and I'd love to see the development of a more comfortable, more mutually enjoyable dynamic as they learn that their new owners are not hungry for their suffering. I don't want these to be egalitarian relationships or for the slaves to be set free; what I want is for them to discover the difference between a bad owner and a good one, and to conclude that belonging to this person is a blessing.
The owners could have a variety of ideas coming into this, whether they are already experienced with keeping slaves (as the warlord might be, for instance) or not expecting this development at all (the adventurer seems likely to have stumbled into this situation by accident), but whether they meant to or not I'd like them to discover that they've gotten their hands on something valuable and worth keeping.
Also I'd note that characters of unmarked race absolutely don't have to be human; other fantasy races are completely welcome.
Language note: "Mistress" is a term I'm not terribly fond of because of its mixed associations; basically anything else would work better for me. I am fond of "Master" treated as a gender-neutral address, but if you're not then "my lady" is a good option, as is any form of respectful address that she's earned in her non-sex-related life (such as "captain," "commander," "your excellency," "your reverence," etc.).
Request-specific DNW: Please don't lean on gender-essentialist social roles to reinforce the pairing's dynamic. (If you're writing a drow and using D&D lore, I don't mind some references to him growing up with that expectation, but please have the new owner understand her power as personal, not conferred on her by gender.) I'm nb and "this binary gender rules over that binary gender, just in general" is an unhappy place for me.
Basch/Noah

Noah's bitterness and anger at Basch feels so deep-rooted, so intense, I can't help reading it as coming from a place where Basch was once the most important person in his world, and he felt deeply betrayed by Basch making different choices than he did after Landis fell. How much of that passion is still there and could be rekindled if they had the chance to spend more time together after the final battles?
I'm open to a lot of variety in how dark their backstory goes, and whether they had a sexual relationship as teenagers; I think there's a lot of interesting potential either way. And if they did have that history, did that lead to Noah taking advantage when Basch was imprisoned and presumed dead? It'd make the reconciliation that much rougher later on, but the crunchy heartbreaking flashbacks to prison rape might be worth it. OTOH a Noah who was always too honorable to go that far, no matter how bitter or angry, is also compelling. So really, I could go whatever way.
Ultimately, though, a chance to reconcile is the thing I crave most.
Gaius/Ravus

I like the idea of crossing these games over in a lot of places but this was the ship that made it to idfic territory. Gaius with silver-haired young prodigies is always good, and Ravus needs a good superior officer—one who has a track record already of recognizing talent as more important than bloodline.
Once there, I'm on board for all my favorite themes here: some D/s stuff with pushing limits and overstimulations, some injured-on-mission hurt/comfort, some respecting each other as warriors, some pleasurable touch for someone who hasn't gotten that in a long time. And in all cases, the devotion that develops from the above.
They could be in either universe for this, I think; either one could slot into an appropriate position in the other's evil empire pretty clearly (or Ravus could become one of Shadowhunter's mercenaries). I don't want to constrain you plot-wise—I feel like a crossover is already enough of a longshot, and I would honestly love to see them strike sparks together in just about any way imaginable.

It's hard to get Ravus to enjoy anything and I imagine he probably goes to his task with a grim, stubborn purpose, expecting it to be an Ordeal to Suffer Through... And it'd be utterly delightful to watch Ardyn take those expectations and dismantle them with the thorough, hungry patience only an immortal can really achieve. Just take him apart, wreck him with pleasure, make him discover what it feels like to worship with his whole heart (and body) instead of just going through the motions. Ardyn for his part really enjoying and appreciating his new sacrifice-celebrant would also be really good—he may or may not be capable of love in his daemon-ridden state but at the very least he can approximate it with delight and possessiveness.

Four variations on a theme, and that theme is lovely slave boys in the hands of someone who might, finally, give them decent treatment. I'd love to look at the slaves' conditioning, fear, and attempts to please, and I'd love to see the development of a more comfortable, more mutually enjoyable dynamic as they learn that their new owners are not hungry for their suffering. I don't want these to be egalitarian relationships or for the slaves to be set free; what I want is for them to discover the difference between a bad owner and a good one, and to conclude that belonging to this person is a blessing.
The owners could have a variety of ideas coming into this, whether they are already experienced with keeping slaves (as the warlord might be, for instance) or not expecting this development at all (the adventurer seems likely to have stumbled into this situation by accident), but whether they meant to or not I'd like them to discover that they've gotten their hands on something valuable and worth keeping.
Also I'd note that characters of unmarked race absolutely don't have to be human; other fantasy races are completely welcome.
Language note: "Mistress" is a term I'm not terribly fond of because of its mixed associations; basically anything else would work better for me. I am fond of "Master" treated as a gender-neutral address, but if you're not then "my lady" is a good option, as is any form of respectful address that she's earned in her non-sex-related life (such as "captain," "commander," "your excellency," "your reverence," etc.).
Request-specific DNW: Please don't lean on gender-essentialist social roles to reinforce the pairing's dynamic. (If you're writing a drow and using D&D lore, I don't mind some references to him growing up with that expectation, but please have the new owner understand her power as personal, not conferred on her by gender.) I'm nb and "this binary gender rules over that binary gender, just in general" is an unhappy place for me.

Noah's bitterness and anger at Basch feels so deep-rooted, so intense, I can't help reading it as coming from a place where Basch was once the most important person in his world, and he felt deeply betrayed by Basch making different choices than he did after Landis fell. How much of that passion is still there and could be rekindled if they had the chance to spend more time together after the final battles?
I'm open to a lot of variety in how dark their backstory goes, and whether they had a sexual relationship as teenagers; I think there's a lot of interesting potential either way. And if they did have that history, did that lead to Noah taking advantage when Basch was imprisoned and presumed dead? It'd make the reconciliation that much rougher later on, but the crunchy heartbreaking flashbacks to prison rape might be worth it. OTOH a Noah who was always too honorable to go that far, no matter how bitter or angry, is also compelling. So really, I could go whatever way.
Ultimately, though, a chance to reconcile is the thing I crave most.

I like the idea of crossing these games over in a lot of places but this was the ship that made it to idfic territory. Gaius with silver-haired young prodigies is always good, and Ravus needs a good superior officer—one who has a track record already of recognizing talent as more important than bloodline.
Once there, I'm on board for all my favorite themes here: some D/s stuff with pushing limits and overstimulations, some injured-on-mission hurt/comfort, some respecting each other as warriors, some pleasurable touch for someone who hasn't gotten that in a long time. And in all cases, the devotion that develops from the above.
They could be in either universe for this, I think; either one could slot into an appropriate position in the other's evil empire pretty clearly (or Ravus could become one of Shadowhunter's mercenaries). I don't want to constrain you plot-wise—I feel like a crossover is already enough of a longshot, and I would honestly love to see them strike sparks together in just about any way imaginable.
